What defines orientation for you?

Is sexual orientation defined by fanstasies and or masturbation. Or feelings, emotions, and physical attraction to another human.

I bet a lot of people will consider all these things to be contributors to sexual orientation, but what if one is turned on and fantasizes about homosexual acts during masturbation but is attracted to the opposite sex emotionally and physically in the case of another actual human being.

Would you call it either way, is it bi, confused, or straight?

What are your thoughts ? I would love to hear...

I am in the position of being emotionally and physically attracted to men, but I watch lesbian porn all the time..i love a womans body but I would never be interested in actually dating one..I dont think this kind of sexuality is anything to be ashamed about either.

I think you are gay, I don't think you fall into any of the other categories of bi, confused or straight. The attraction that you feel towards women, I think is fueled by your desire to be straight, I doubt it is sexual.

 

Even straight men there is something that draws them together in friendship but they don't have sexual fantasies or wish they could have sex with one another. It is just not part of that friendship. Sports for example can draw straight guys together physically, and at times it does seem to touch on sexual elements but really it isn't. Its just physical.

 

Generally women look at porn differently than men do, for the most part women don't consume much porn at all, that's not me saying it, that is what markets tell us, that what online tells activity tells us clearly. Where some women do enjoy certain porn is not so much the physical nature of it but the emotional and the sexual energy around it. Not so much for guys they just want to see the parts. It is entirely possible for straight women to enjoy lesbian porn because it can speak to the sexual energy around it.

I've always wondered this. Girls turn me on and I'd hook up with one for fun, but I wouldn't want to date one.

Google the Kinsey scale. Personally, I'm a big fan. Basically, it's a theory that describes the spectrum of sexual orientation (there are other, more robust theories) and they say that it fluctuates throughout one's lifetime.

 

Labels ("homosexual" and "heterosexual") are great for... yanno... speeding up a discussion... but in reality, I think most of us are both, to varying degrees.

 

The world is not black and white. Neither is sexuality.

I am very comfortable with my sexuality. My best gay friend has described me as the gayest straight guy he knows. I hug him, have kissed him on the cheek, both were more brotherly than sexual. The OP sounds to me like he's still finding himself...

 

There is something deeply satisfying to knowing yourself sexually, earnestly deep down.
