How come I care?

I broke up with my bf about a week ago, yet we were still in contact. I find out he is courting another girl and I'm jealous, hurt, angry etc. Why do I feel these things when I'm the one who broke it off and deep down I know I don't want to get back together? Anyone gone through this?

This is my life story right here. Except I eventually just cut all contact and we did the whole blocking thing. You feel this way because I'm sure in a way you still wanted him to coming begging for you, and now you find out he's trying to talk to someone else. It's just an ego thing. I have no desire to be with my ex he's a lousy person but I too was hurt at first when I heard the news of the new girl. Realize you can do so much better and cut off all contact with him. It's the best way to start healing yourself.

Moving on pretty quickly. It makes us feel like it didn't mean anything if they could move on so quickly, but remember that everyone heals differently.
