george237
Ok I was going to call my mortgage company and ask if there is any type of payment plan I can go on while I search for a job, currently unemployed. I am not yet late on any payments and will not be till march or april, if I can't find something. Does anyone know if they actually do this? I would like to know what I should say and what I should expect. Link to comment
BeStrongBeHappy
Sometimes they are willing to take more payments on at the end rather than paying currently, or let you pay just the interest and not the principle. A lot depends on the bank you are dealing with and how flexible they are. Some will accommodate you, and some won't. Link to comment
george237
Just got off the phone with chase. They offer to deffer 3 months of payments and then add them to your loan after the 3 months. Doesn't damage your credit. Sounds like an out for me Link to comment
george237
There you go, that's something better than nothing. I would still maybe seek other counseling or that government hope thing, just in case of something more unexpected so you have more ammunition stored up if a job doesn't come your way. I hope it does soon. Take care. Thanks I did read what you sent. I am going to file for this 3 month thing and take it from there. If I get to March and no job I will look for other alternatives.
