Reading this thread was like reading George Orwells' 1984.

 

At the beginning the protagonist rallies hard against a soul crushing system. He expresses his pain. He fights for the right to love freely and experience and express his emotions without sanction. By the end of the story - and after extensive "re-education," he praises the system, he praises Big Brother and now agrees with authoritarian law that 2 plus 2 does in fact equal 5.
