throwback to evolution... tis part of the reason behind racism.

a lot of people like people who look like them and their family (same "clan" when we were using stone tools)

 

and yeah, I can totally see how men AND women would be attracted to people like their parents, happens in most relationships I can think of... Women have been shown to go for men like their fathers, no reason why men wouldnt do the same.

 

I dont know what that has to do with men liking "athletic" women tho.

im glad someone else thought about this before to.

 

actually, i thought the opposite was true! most of the guys i've dated had short moms, so i always thought men like the opposite of what their mothers where. i am close to 5'10" and the tallest mother i've come accross was 5'4".

i think it's more geared towards personality and morale. not physically.
