Leadership

Recommended Posts

there are tons of books on leadership (i'm going to the NYLSC conference, so that would help me but not u)

but what do you think it takes to lead? it pretty generally takes selflessness, great care for others, and supremecy in what you lead for.

there've been times when i've been a great leader by helping a 6th grader (this year and he's my best friend's bro) become a great paintball player by teaching him the basic skills in a way he understtood. u need a confident voice and experience, too.

i hear the army makes great leaders out of people

Well, I'd like to add to nottoogreen's post: I think you must have a clear vision of what's ahead to lead.

Clear vision ?, Well, Today I talked to an engineer working on the composite design of next generation transport aircraft where the whole body is composite ((carbon) fibre + glue) and not metal. They are learning about it while sales people sell.

That requires imagination way beyond clear vision.

Well when I think of leadership I think of Jesus. In my opinion Jesus is a great leader. He is humble. He washed His disciples feet. A footwasher back in biblical times was considered a low position, one that you would not give your enemy. Its equivilent today is a janitor. So what makes a leader is one who is willing to "come down" from his or her position and help out when things get a little hectec for their workers.

The above is what I picture of a great leader. These are my opinions.
