Guy I loved broke up

Ok, so I guy I liked for a long time just broke up with his boyfriend. His boyfriend cheated on him 5 times in one week with 4 different guys and he caught him the last time.

 

So, my friend is definitely hurting right now, and although he hasn't said he wants him back, he may just b/c that's the way love goes sometimes.

 

Now, we've messed around before, but it never went further than that. Should I approach him after this whole mess is over and try something, or should I move on from this situation?

Just be there for him, and when he feels better then talk to him about it. He just broke up so give him time for his heart to mend
