So, confused.

My ex and I were together for almost three years before we broke up. The break up was pretty mutual, and happened not long ago. The reason why we broke up was because I am transferred colleges.

 

I visited him last weekend and we ended up having sexual relations, I did it mostly because I feel strong emotions for him and hoped that we'd get back together because of it. Later, when I got home I confessed how I couldn't be without him and I needed him in my life. We turned me down because he didn't want a long distance relationship. (we went through that already) My heart is broken. I don't know what to do, should I still try to get back with him or just respect his feelings?

If he is telling you he doesn't want a relationship then you have to respect that and leave him alone.

 

I think you would find it easier too if you did not conttinue to have sex with him when you see each other. It keeps you attached and him satisfied with the best of two worlds.

Welcome to eNotAlone. Please forgive my negativity, but if you are going to remain living physically far apart and he doesn't want a LDR... I wouldn't give it much of a chance.

 

Sorry about your heartbreak. I went through it just once, and that was more than enough for me.

Yeah, I know. But, the thing that gets me is we talk about getting back together after I finish school. It just doesn't seem fair that he's agreeing to that and I feel like it's just some excuse to lead me on.

After thinking about that it really does connect in the back of mind, why let him keep me from moving on with my life.

Who knows, maybe you will get back together some day. But to waste that much of your life staying on hold for someone who may never be there... it doesn't sound like a recipe for happiness to me.

I can think of two reasons why he wants it this way;

 

1. He doesnt trust you to be faithful

 

2. He wants to keep his door open with other women for sex while you are gone.

Yeah, the more that I think about it is. Why would I want to be with someone that doesn't trust me enough, or would hurt me enough to sleep with other people also.

if he wants to have sex with you then he may want to get back with you, but if you keep having sex with him, then you really will get attached in the long run you know what i mean. i would ireally get attached real quick

Yeah, if I am already attached and am trying to break this attachment sex should be def. out of the picture.
