aggierocker
I drink about 4 cans and run 2 miles everyday with 5 miles 1 day. All I have is track access. Link to comment
Scout
You run that much? Cool! I have no idea if that's too much beer, but I would think four a day might be excessive. Why not cut it down to two? Link to comment
jabele
Wait, drink what? Water? Beer? Soda? lol...need more information. Link to comment
Scout
Oh, I just assumed beer since he said cans. Maybe he meant soda or Red Bull or something. Link to comment
RayKay
Yeah I agree, if that is beer it is probably too much. Same if it is Red Bull for that matter - that much caffeine is NOT good for you! Too much alchohol really affects your physical fitness/output on a day to day basis. It dehydrates you, and so will slow you down, or not allow you to go as hard. I notice a difference if I have a glass or two of wine for example the night before a run compared to when I don't. Muscles tire quicker, don't recover as quickly and I have less overall energy even if I had same amount of sleep and food intake. Link to comment
Scotcha
I've read that males can safely have two drinks a day, females one. Link to comment
nottoogreen
Drinking everyday is a problem because your body get's addicted. You should have at least 2 days off per week. I follow this practice for a long time and have no problems with craving alcohol. About your 4 drinks per day, it's on the high side but as long as you have 2-3 off days it's not too bad. Your running is very good, I could not do it because I am too tall and top heavy and my knee joints would die. I swim a lot and bike a bit instead. Link to comment
chemica
Yea, you definitely need to specify what you are drinking. If it is beer, drinking 4 cans of beer and then trying to run two miles is rediculously dehydrating. Link to comment
aggierocker
Yep beer and maybe a cig. Link to comment
melrich
4 cans of beer a day is too much. The running will probably keep the weight off but it won't stop the damage being done to your organs. Link to comment
