Hannahleh
This is embarrassing... but the other night I kind of snapped, I had an incident with my dad, and I got kind of drunk and ended up slicing up my wrist in the dark pretty bad without even realizing exactly what I was doing. Anyway, today I got a job, and tomorrow I start. I'm going to be bussing tables, and although it doesn't look quite as bad it's still pretty visible... the guy I'm kinda dating is working there as well, and if he saw I'd never be able to look him in the eye again. How can I cover this up, when I'm wearing a short sleeve smock? My foundation isn't heavy enough...it's just on the inside of my left wrist. Link to comment
in_the_mirror
you got any kind of wrap bracelets? Link to comment
Haven
You could try a thick bracelet or a watch? I'm sure you could find one that isn't conspicious but would still be enough to cover your wrist. Link to comment
shorty20
yea the watch is a good idea Link to comment
Hannahleh
Thanks a lot. I like the watch/bracelet idea, I'll dig through my stuff and see if I can find one. Link to comment
neva_black_n_white
I think the watch idea is a pretty good one. after all, those try to cover up too much tend to be the most obvious. i knew when my friend had self harmed because she used to wear a sweat band.. (wasnt the brightest idea when it wasnt her style - she was one for coordination *smiles*) Link to comment
patch2006uk
There are creams and things you can buy that apparently help reduce the appearance of scars, so you could try one of those. other than that, could you maybe try different concealers. cover up with differnet objects really isn't the best option, as people eventually cotton on, especially when you're reluctant to remove the bands ever! dpressedone89
depending on how far up your wrist it is a longsleeve shirt might help -sTiTcHEs Link to comment
itseuphoric
i agree with the watch/bracelet idea. that always works. if it's small you could just put a bandaid over it Link to comment
Outcast-Angel
stick with the watch. lots of people wear watches all the time. it's hardly a suspiscious accessory. and long sleeves are a good idea too, in the winter. Link to comment
BrokenWingedFaery
Jewelry for sure. Putting makeup over it increases the risk of infection. Link to comment
katie831
you can either wear the watch but if that doesn't cover the whole area try a sweat band or even just a bandage and say you hurt your wrist, like you twisted it or sprained it. Link to comment
good_charlotte_freak2
i use just plain old coverup cause nobodty will really notice it on the wrist. I put on the coverup and then an accessory to cover it up just to make sure it's not at all visible Link to comment
