Coming across items after a breakup

Hello,

 

I was in a Decade long relationship. It ended back in August. I was recently looking at my movie collection and I felt this gut wrenching pain. You see movies was my ex and my thing. So coming across various movies him and I used to watch over and over really hurt. I will never be able to watch these again. So I'm giving them away to my older brother.

 

I basically after the break up did a cleanse of removing all things of the ex like photos, jewelry from my house.

 

As gut wrenching as it is. I can tell you whether you have been with someone a couple months, couple years to very long term; there is always reminders you can't get rid of. If you are lucky you take the good memories.

 

It's the material items that are easy to get rid of.

You're only a few months out of a long relationship. It'll take time before you don't feel that punch to the gut from familiar memories. It gets better.
