Amp33
Have you ever had an affair with someone outside of their marriage? Have you told your new significant other? I have in no way done this, but I am curious what would happen in this situation. Link to comment
bulletproof
I've never had an affair with someone, but I would probably tell my significant other at some point in the relationship. Probably not early on, but if the conversation eventually turned to past relationships, I wouldn't lie. Link to comment
catfeeder
No, it makes no sense to poison a new relationship with discussions about past relationships. The whole point of making mistakes is to learn from them, not to carry them around as a baggage-lugger and sabotage all future outcomes. Link to comment

I don't think this past incident is any different from confessing how many people you have had sex with. I don't think that people's past dalliances should be shared with SOs. What is in the past is in the past. I think there are some exceptions, however. I think if one has in the sex trade or did any other 'public' acts such as being in Playboy or other visual media that is the public domain needs to be shared before the SO discovers it. But private relationships and private sexual acts of the past that does not affect the health and well being of the present SO should remain in the past. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
