I'm all messed up-Can't get over break up with ex

Recommended Posts

I met this girl, through my best friend. We were together for 3 1/2 years, pretty good times. We had our share of arguments, but nothing major. Last year, she left me because she believed that I didn't want to have a future with her(i.e. family, kids). We got back together at the end of last summer, and now were in the same position. I do love her, and can't get over this break up. I get so depressed, I've never felt like this. I've always been able to walk away from relationships no-problem. But this is killing me. I even tried moving out of state to clear my mind. I've met other girls. I just cant stop tinking about her. I just feel that I truly love her. We still talk everyday. We've started sleeping together lately also, and it has really been taking its toll on me emotionally. When we were together we'd be together everyday, now it is a chore to spend time together. Lately, I've been considering moving accross the country to start a new, and quiet life. Because, this relationship is just a drop in the bucket compared to all my problems. I just feel that she was the only positive thing in my life that was good. She motivated me to go back to college after 10 years. I don't know what to do.

You gotta force yourself to stop needing her it's unhealthy. You gotta do stuff for yourself now, not because she helped you do it. She's not with you anymore and you aren't living for her, you're living for yourself. I'm doing the same thing man. Everything I did I did for my ex not myself, and it's a weird feeling to all of a sudden not think about how proud they will be that you did this or that. You have to think, what do I want to do today? Not what should I do for my ex today? The less you need her, the better off you'll be. You have to realize that you don't need anyone and that the only one you need is yourself.
