English/American- Texting/Calling

This is really random and I hope no one takes offence but I have noticed a lot of people on here from the United States think guys or girls who text to communicate are Lazy or think its really bad to do, Im from London and it's pretty rare for a guy to call u up and ask for a date....texting is the generally the contact, at least until you have been on a few dates!! Nothing wrong with either, just an observation I made.....

I would think it shows much more confidence to make a phone call and talk in person, than send a text. That aside, I never phone anyone, I always text everyone, and therefore wouldn't change to show some girl I was confident. Take me as I am or not at all I say. Good observation though, I think you are spot on.

Technology is taking over, so it has become the standard. I wouldn't be offended if someone asked me out via text, but it would say something if they called.

call or text- they have all turned out to be ****s lol. thinking about the one and only guy ive ever had in my life that was a good guy was a texter!

I'm from the UK too and also realise that many men here will text instead of call.

 

I've had a few men call me, but lots have texted instead.

My husband is English and would rather talk to someone than via a text whereas I (an Ameircan) would rather communicate via text than a call mostly because I'm doing something while talking to someone.

I think it depends on where you meet the guys. If you have a preference for talking, then be upfront and tell them. Text them back "my voice number is...if you would like to call and ask"
