How to small talk.

Anyone got any tips on how to small talk.

Basically show an interest in them by asking them questions about their job, their life, their interests etc. You can also discuss current affairs on what's going on in the world, the latest big item on the news. Travel is also usually a good topic. There's tons of things to talk about.

Ask simple questions, "Where did you go on your last vacation?" or "What are your plans for the holiday weekend?" These usually lead to other topics, just listen and comment.

Open ended questions. How did you choose this school? Why do you enjoy playing golf? Tell me about how you met your SO?

Ask open-ended questions as NowandZen said. Practice showing that you're listening (nods, "mhm," different facial expressions at the appropriate times). Take what they say and use it to relate something about yourself. And on it goes!
