Genuine_Ghost
I hugged a guy I'm pretty sure was HIV positive, and he kind of kissed me on the cheek, or tried to and his face rubbed on mine. He looked like he had a spot or maybe a cut on his cheek, and I had cut myself shaving. Is there a risk I have HIV? I've been tested before and I really don't want to go again, is this stupid? Not saliva, it's the cut/spot I'm worried about. Link to comment
cazmoore
No. You can't transfer HIV through saliva unless you drink like 3 gallons of it. Link to comment
Scylla
No. The main way is thru unprotected sex (more so, anal). Seriously, don't worry about it. Link to comment
nutbrownhare
If you didn't have open wound to blood contact, you'd be unlikely to have HIV. It isn't easy to catch! What made you think he was HIV positive, anyway? Link to comment
fuddiduddy
You cannot catch HIV that way. Exposure to air kills the virus. So even if he IS positive and his cut touched your cut, you will not contract his HIV. Link to comment
blindfold
No, relax... If he wasn't bleeding from an open wound and you didn't have an open wound, there's no way. relax, and enjoy his company. Link to comment
Capricorn3
No. Um...... just because he has a spot on his cheek you're sure he's HIV positive?? Link to comment
Firiel
You have three or four other threads about different times you've been scared of HIV... have you ever considered taking a class on HIV/AIDS? Maybe if you better understood it, it would be less of a phobia for you. Link to comment
Seraphim
Um No not possible. Please educate yourself. Link to comment
Genuine_Ghost
To all the people who said 'Educate yourself about HIV', is this not a result of education? Surely, it is obvious that HIV is spread through cuts and blood transfers, and I was in a situation where that might have occurred. Likewise with my previous fears. Link to comment
Seraphim
You would both have to have actively bleeding wounds that you rubbed together and they would have to be pretty big. The virus is killed by oxygen very quickly. I have looked after a potentially HIV positive baby as her mother was HIV positive. I know it does not spread easily. Really, talk with someone to alleviate your fears. Link to comment
