Recommendations: Feeling Down

I am an avid reader, I'll read anything and everything.

In my life right now I am struggling.

I have horribly outgrown my life, the phase I am at and quite frankly stuck. The thought of being in this position for another year, atleast is really bringing me down.

Has anyone read a book [fiction or non] that was inspiring. Something you read that was a giant pick me up.

Whether it be female based, like a girl growing up, discovering herself, dealing with hard times.

Or a book that made you say "Wow, I'll never complain about anything ever again..."

Or a love story, something that made you hopeful.

I'm dealing with alot of things in my personal life and I feel very trapped, isolated and alone and just can't really find anyone to relate to.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Anthem by Any Rand

Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell (Very long!)

Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden (I love this book!!)

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen

The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer

Try Arthur Nersesian's, The F*ck Up. It's so tragic it's comical, it cracks me up every time. So if you can get into tragi-comedies then I'd give it a go.

For laughs, because laughing is a good pick-me up, try anything by Tom Robbin's. Intelligent, funny novels. Maybe start with "Even cowgirls get the blues".
