Your Hand In Mine
Indie Folk
Broken and torn
That’s what we are
Each time we talk
A battlefield
A warzone
Ground zero for the
Dropped atomic bomb
Wastelands dominate the spaces
Between our thoughts
Nothing can make it through
Alive
We mistreat each other
I know someone else would love me better
But for some strange reason
All I want is
Your hand
In mine
After about 5 minutes of brainstorming, this is what I have come up with so far. It fits into an album I've been writing about a failing relationship that is strained by the unexpected addition of a child to the family. When I first thought of the concept, I had been listening heavily to Tallahassee by The Mountain Goats and somewhat mirrors it in a way, I guess.
Also, there isn't any real melody or tune to the song yet, so that's why there's no real discernible structure in certain cases, the last lines are most likely going to form the chorus. I just felt somewhat proud of myself because the beginnings of it turned out better than expected.
