  1. I just wanted to let you know that I've been there and done that...but guess what? It does get better with some help. I have been to a counsellor with my husband because I couldn't stand the thought of him touching me in certain ways just because of being abused when I was younger. I also didn't like him working with girls...I guess that I expected him to cheat on me or hurt me in some way...why not? Everyone else that I loved or trusted did. Just know that we are doing really well now and have a one year old son, Ky. We have a great relationship and we have been married for 5 years in July. We have worked hard through the tough times, but it was all worth it! Keep your head up, girl!
  2. Nevermind 335, As a young lady who has been abused, I know that it is much easier to hide behind the happy mask than to face the truth. I guess I just wanted to say that after someone experiences abuse, they can struggle with their emotions. They may laugh, cry, become depressed, search out a "new" life, or even hurt themselves. I used to blame myself because I was too friendly (I was 4, 6 and 13 when I was molested), because I was in the wrong family, and so on. Your friend needs your support...and you should just hold her in your arms and tell her that you're glad she trusted you enough to tell you about the painful past she has and let her know that you'll be there for her if she needs you...and if you will be there. It sounds like you guys are destined to be together. Good luck!
  3. Shy Soul, You seem to have a lot of great advice and you have an impeciable way of wording your thoughts. It's true that the world needs more people like you to encourage others to keep pushing through the storm to reach the sunshine! P.S. Martina McBride is my favourite songwriter and singer! I can truly feel the emotions she sings about. Take care!
