any advice for cold sores?

I haven't had one of these in a couple of years until today. I use Abreva but it still takes a long time to get rid of them. Anyone out there have any other solutions for getting rid of them quickly??

Another good one is Zovirax. Im not too sure whether it is avaialble in other countries, but here in New Zealand, its is the best by far!

I haven't heard of it but like I said this is my first one in about 2 years so it may be out there and I just don't know about it. I will try and find it. THanks!

 

By the way, about how long does it take for you to get rid of a cold sore? For me it's about 1 1/2 weeks - not sure if that is a normal amount of time or not.

ugh.. I just got a cold sore today.

 

the best way to get rid of them is to burn them off before they have a chance to spread. Apply either vinegar or perfume to the cold sore as many times as you can throughout the day. Personally, I just sit there with a cup of white vinegar and keep putting it on every 15 minutes. It's usually gone within a day or two. The sooner you catch it the better.

 

Also, don't lick your lips and don't use lip balm. Don't touch your lips.
