The Adult Song - for all of us to live by

Inspired... by a true story

Well, I wanted to go to this party

But came down with the terminal blues

There I stood for an hour and sobbed in the shower

Then just couldn't drag on my shoes

And the Taoist within me was wordless

My Christian spit nonsense in tongues

The strength that I had went so suddenly absent

It sucked the breath right from my lungs

Everyone

Our choice will be ashes or dust

One day soon

As each of our voices is hushed

Does that bother you?

Do you want it to?

But hey! others will come and discover

The joy in the things we once did

They'll have our last names and look kinda the same

There will always be one little kid

And there's nothin' like bein' a kid

Everyone

Let's give all the love that we can

Let's let them

Remember good times that we had

Are you listening?

It's the greatest thing...

So I won't put a gun to my temple

Or pray for a train to hit me

We haven't earned death 'til we've drawn our last breath

And there's no telling when that'll be

No, no, no telling when that'll be

I wanted to go to this party

And I see that it's still not too late

I'll push off those blues and I'll pull on these shoes

Yeah, the darkness and silence can wait

Well, the darkness and silence can wait

All the darkness and silence

Will... wait.

Right...you've handed me my cup o' tea to wake me up and respond to this properly...so here goes...

Yeah, its good.

SYKE.

Its freaking amazing. No surprise there.

I don't know how you do it. I really don't. Darnit, I hope I get this trait from you at sometime.

Stanza 5 (if you wanna call it that) - that one kid is me, OF COURSE *blows smoke heavily up own bottom*

Stanza 8 - deadly true (pardon the pun). And nicely put.

The darkness and silence can wait.

You are so right, SB. So right.

Yeah, SB, push them into their corner and make them wait ... while you're soakin' up the light and joy and the wonders of another spring day. wilco.E-Money. I'm glad it's finally March; whover cam eup with the ill-conceived notion of February was the ill-conceived bastard gimp son of syupidity mcIncarnate.
