Is assuming a good way to attract and learn if they are single or not?

Is it a good idea to assume the girl you're trying to attract has a boyfriend by throwing into the conversation something along the lines as "I bet your boyfriend....(whatever, something funny)"?

 

Would this come out as me showing interest? By doing this I wouldn't have to awkwardly ask if they are single.

Some say it when the are interested and some say it just to find out more about em, so yeah i think it would be a great way to find out

i personally think the direct ways are better.

"do you have a boyfriend" or 'are you in a relationship?"

It gets to the point and if she/he is interested they will say they are single.

I don't ask at all. She will let you know if she does have a BF or not. Sometimes girls will say that they do even if they don't, when they aren't interested.

 

There is no reason to ask. If you ask her out she will let you know.

i use simple questions like that all of the time. the other route is to just start asking more personal questions. she will let you know about her bf if she has one.
