What exactly is "average" weight?

Recommended Posts

I've read quite a few posts with guys saying they rather have and "average" girl then a super model skinny one. My question is, what exactly do you consider average? Does average include a little extra stomach, or slightly "thicker" legs with amazing abs?

I've also realized that a lot of guys are now into the big butt thing (eg, beyonce, jlo, christina millian). Althogh they have arguably large rears the rest of their body is incredibly fit.

Do you know how difficult it is to have a big butt and flat abs?! LOL

In general big butt means a little extra everywhere else. Is this still considered attractive????

Thanx for any replies in advance

Umm, it means like for the stomach average is close to a 6 pack, with a little flab. It looks gross for a girl to have a 6 pack..But then again it's gross to have a belly that hangs over your pants . I'm not really into that whole big *** thing that some guys like though, I think it's gross. Umm for legs, average is like not fat not bony.

Thing is though, if you read that guys like average girls and your skinny, your body will change a whole lot around 17-18 so if your 14 and 15 right now, be thankful lol. You don't know if your thyroid will go bad on you. So don't go on the McDonalds diet to gain lbs to be considered average. If your skinny, your fine the way you are.

There is no such thing as average, or at least nothing really concrete. What is probably meant is that they don't want someone stick thin or someone 300 pounds. But average is a vague term that means different things to different people. So don't worry about it. Whatever weight you are is fine. The guy should like you for you, not how much you weigh.

Don't ask me what the big deal is with big butts, or big breasts, or anything like that. I don't get it. I'm sure you are beautiful just the way you.

Average is such a vague term you can't possibly figure out what anyone means when they say average it could mean so many different things to even the same person. As far as weight goes I guess if you have to try to think of average weight it would be more of a body mass thing you are looking for obviously just your height alone could change what is considered average weight. So I guess you could use body mass to try to figure out if you are average weight. The formula for body mass is

BMI = ( Weight in Pounds / ( Height in inches ) x ( Height in inches ) ) x 703

So if you are say 155 lbs and you are 5'6" tall your BMI is 25 and I believe a BMI of 25 is considered average I25-26 is slightly over weight and +27 is over weight I can give you a chart if you would like to look at one I really wouldnt give much attention to it.

You can look at this chart and get a good idea if you are at an average weight for your height if you would even want to. I really don't know anyone that would want to have an average any thing. Like the average marriage last 5.2 years. Who in there right mind would want an average marriage. So don't take the average anything very seriously at all.

When I find a woman that we have respect for each other and can spend hours talking and every thing clicks, and you love each other and she would be totally faithful to me. I could care less what her BMI is.

Man I need to seriously gain some weight lol. I'm like 6ft2in and around 160-165 (when I weight myself last week). I normally hover around 155lbs but guess my eating greesy french fries and drinking twice a week has helped to add on some weight. I'm still almost at the underweight category based on the BMI chart though.

Comparing your weight to others is a bad idea because different people have different bodies, and what is right for one person is not right for another.

What matters if your health. I weight 200 pounds which is technically over weight for a guy of my age and height. But I am very healthy. I walk for hours on end, and do lots of physical exercise at work. My heart is good and beats well. SO I am happy. Maybe I am technically overweight, but my heart is good and I am healthy and get fewer colds and sicknesses than most people...so oh well!!!!!

What matters is that you are healthy and do lots of exercise. !!!! Thats what is most important. And have a good heart. A good heart physically, and a good heart emotionally too!!!!

That has a calculator and a chart on it.

Although I think it must be wrong because my BMI is 24.5 and I'm 5'9. I'm actually 12 lbs over weight and it said I was at the bottem of normal. That must mean that I'm edging on underweight which isn't true! I guess it's just on other peoples weights. Maybe everyone thinks that 12 stone (166lbs) is a good weight for 5 ft 9 but I put on a lot of weight recently before hand I was 10 stone 6lbs which is 147 now I consider anything between 140-150 normal for my height. someone that is an inch shorter maybe a few pounds less.
