Hi, I've been on a few dates with a girl and although I enjoy her company - there's a certain spark missing - I would like to stay in touch as friends but state I'm not romantically interested - has anyone got any good ideas how I should word this? Thanks

Yup. ^That pretty much sums it up!!

 

I think that you could also point out some specific things you appreciate about her, so she knows you're sincere about the friends thing. And if you do want to be her friend, make a point to invite her to a group event or something soon -- so you keep in touch but in a clear, friendship-only sort of way. Oh, but don't go and flirt with some other girl in front of her at first. That's just hurtful, even if she didn't feel the spark either.
