Death Of A Nice Guy

A doormat isn't pretty,

They get treated like crap,

Then one day something happens,

And everything snaps,

I won't bow to requests,

Or do what I'm asked,

It's high time I realised,

That's the way you get passed,

 

Although you can support,

And be there for them,

You also must know,

That from you it must stem,

A strength and a grace,

Is the way I must be,

These things I have learned,

And I've finally seen,

 

That being this way,

Is what I'm working for,

5 or 10 weeks,

I'm not really quite sure,

One thing is certain,

Nice guys finish last,

So for the sake of my future,

I'll put this guy in my past.
