Okay well the thing is which is real short. My friend just broke up with this guy and he liked me the whole time. well i never flirted with him or anything i just kept it as friends. now that they are broke up and aint together and all...is it okay to date him?

Watch out is all I say. im sure you know the consequences of doing it... but from my experience... it doesn't work. You end up both secluding all your friends and a lot of people will have opinions about the both of you... in the end the people around you will destroy you.

You might have to weigh the following...

 

How long were they together?

Was it a bad breakup?

How close are you to this friend of yours?

 

Based on these variables, you might be able to reach a decision. I think dating a friend's ex is considered inconsiderate. Even if she has healed from the breakup, you may wanna check with her if she is okay before asking the guy out.

put yourself in your friend's shoes, how would you feel if she did the same to you? i know how i would feel... absolutely devastated and betrayed (assuming a bad breakup, they were together for a while). she may say otherwise, but i wouldn't believe her.
