Parenting and confidence?

I am not sure if this topic has been brought up before but I was curious if a child's confidence will be directly affected by the confidence that his or her parents display?

I think yes. There is a modeling aspect to it.

 

But I think even more importantly than that, is how much you display that you have confidence in the child.

IMO, definetly. No bones about it. A kid needs to feel secure - which takes a confident parent(s) - or else it is terribly difficult to develop confidence. Not to mention all the other problems it can create.

 

But, I like the 'it takes a village to raise a child' philosophy. Helps to give the kid a serious chance.
