I wouldnt tell an ex if I was dating, unless it was asked and then I would answer honestly. But it's not information I would offer since it's really none of their business.

Um, well that depends on the person, the relationship between the ex's, and the importance of the new person they are dating. I can't honestly tell you if YOUR ex would tell you.

 

I know my ex and I are pretty open about dating, and have both met one anothers partners (he dates more casually, but I have met them).

If it was asked, most likely. Though, I never ask and he still feels the need to constantly tell me there's no one else.

I wouldn't even want to know if my ex was dating again. I would just want to move on with a clean slate.

A lot of people won't openly tell their ex that they're dating in the midst of a casual conversation. This is simply because it may come off as bragging or as a way to make you jealous. However, there are those few that do tell all for those reasons.

 

It really just depends on the person as an individual, how your relationship was, and the way you both brokeup (or cause).

 

(In my case, I have asked exes if they were dating. curiosity has always gotten the best of me...

Every situation is different. It depends on how much that person means to you (the new person and the ex). I have only said something if I am in a serious relationship with somebody else, if it's causal I wouldn't evern mention it.
