This guy is a tool. Why did he quit his job so abruptly without having another lined up? I question if he's a bit of a hot head, especially with his behavior towards you. Some guys like the idea of dating but they don't actually want to do it, meaning they'll be happy texting and talking about it, but something will always preclude actually meeting up. He's just mean, though, and doing things to intentionally make you cancel. I can understand him not wanting to take a 30 minute drive with money being tight, but perhaps it's not a good time to date. Maybe as stated earlier, since he can't/won't just end this, stating he can't date now or he doesn't want to date you, he's behaving like a butt in order to make you do it. Take the hint and do it. He sounds like a jerk, TBH.
