Girl from England....

and I live in Canada. I've known her for pretty much all of 5 years, but the last year and a bit, we've been having our ins and outs. 2 years ago, we had plans to meet over Christmas, but her parents got cold feet and in a fit of stupidity?? she ran off to London, in hopes to jump on a plane herself. Parents caught wind of this plan and all the plans fell through.

Needless to say, I have known this person for 5 years but we've never met. In this 5 years, I've had 2 *Real* relationships, one of which became sexual and I lost my virginity. After the second relationship fell apart I talked to this girl from England about it. I figured, she's known me for years, and I could talk to her about these things. Well, apparently, she has considered me her boyfriend and has been saving herself this whole time for me. And NOW, she's all pissed off because apparently, my having other local relationships is considered "cheating". I find this odd as I'd always hoped for something to happen between her and me, but it never did and we'd never really talked about us being boyfriend & girlfriend. We'd never even met.

Well, now she's all mad at me and back in University in Scotland and I won't have any way of contacting her unless she comes home and contacts me, or I wait until April. I do really like her and could honestly see us having a future, but she is very stubborn and isn't the easiest to communicate with despite her incredibly high intelligence.

Ugh, Help? What should I do ?

Hmm it sounds a bit silly of her to get mad at you and say you're cheating when clearly you never considered yourself as being with her. I think though that she was probably just upset because she really likes you. Can you see yourself and her being geographicly close to each other any time soon? That's really the key to long distance relationships there needs to be some vision of you being together physically.

If so maybe you should write her a letter explaining how you feel about her but also explaining the situation you were in, that you didn't feel that you were in a relationship (given you've never met and lived in different countires) but you're willing to make a go at it.

Just a thought.
