This is going to sound harsh but you've only invested in a year and half in the relationship. Do you want to go through all this with someone that may or may not change? If you were married or been with him a very long time I could see trying to stick it out but it seems like a lot of exhausting effort on someone you really haven't been with very long.

 

This is why I think you have been back and forth.
