bebeblondie
So I'm sorta talking to this guy I had one date with last weekend, and have another one lined up for this Saturday. He's pretty heavy on contact, texts me all day long but pretty lightheartedly so it doesn't bother me. Anyway today he asked me to text him a pic...which was weird since he's met me and already knows what I look like. So I said "you forgot what I look like already?" so he answered saying "no but its ok if it seems like an odd request not like l said lets trade nude photos lol"...so then I steered the convo into a bit of joke and everything was fine. But i was just wondering why would a guy ask for my photo if he knows what i look like? I mean I can understand if we'd been dating a while and he missed me or something, but we had one date. EssexMan
There could be a number of reasons. It could just be that he has a bad memory for faces (some people do) and wants to remind himself what you look like. This could be a sign that he likes you. Alternatively, he might be wanting to show your pic to somebody else. Could be anyone - guy friends, girl friends, his mother. It's your call, obviously, but if he just wants a face pic, I wouldn't see much problem there. If he asks for nude pics at this stage, run a mile (unless it's obviously a joke). Link to comment
Greatone99
I agree with EssexMan. In my last relationship I sometimes got random pics of my ex just smiling or something, it was nice actually. Maybe he's just telling you that's something that would be nice? Link to comment

Yea he just asked for normal clear picture It was just weird cause I had already sent him a pic last week before we met (we had actually met eachother about 7 years ago, but it was a bbq and neither of us really clearly remembered what the other looked like...and either way it's been 7 years so we've changed obviously), so he has a pic of me in his phone already....oh well guess he just wanted another one. Wasn't really bothered by it, just wondering. Link to comment
Klokwurk
Weird - maybe he wanted it for the shrine he is making of you in his basement. Link to comment

Befoe i saw that he already had one in his phone I was going to say that he probably wanted to save a pic in your contact info so that it shows up when you text back and forth....I've had several guys request that...they just can't stand to look at that boring blue outline thingy they want a real pic. maybe he accidentally deleted the one you already sent or just wanted one of how you look at work. I don't know about you but I'm usually dressed differently at work. Men are visual creatures after all I say as long as he wsn;t expecting a racy pic you're safe to appease him...just let him know you wan't be taking new pics every day. Link to comment
PaintWithLight
It is kinda early and kinda random for him to ask for pics. Usually pics are sent willingly when there is a reason or something happened that you wanted to share. Take things slow with this guy. Listen to your gut. You gave him a chance to explain why he wanted an additional photo of you, but he only spun it around like your concern was ridiculous. You have total right to guard who has random picture of you floating around the cyber world. Link to comment
MasterPo
I don't know. I never ask for pics but when I get one I'm always happy to receive them. I never give pics either but if its important I will pose dramatically. Taking pics isn't something I do, probably a military thing. Some guys think as I do and some don't so there is some example. As for amateur porn. LOL Well, a whole lot of trust issues and all it takes is one pic to get loose and you're cyber famous. Generally no money involved but a whole lot family drama and/or packing for the move. I've gotten a few over my years, always interesting and I always say thank you and delete. I'm glad I don't have any from the EX, that would severely set back my healing. Link to comment
Imtheretoo
This is usually a way to initiate racy pics. Once you get in the habit of sending pictures the boundaries change. If you met this guy online, then 85% I'm right as I know people like this. Link to comment
Klokwurk
I agree with the last post. Link to comment
zep
yea i think sending racy pics is somewhat common. I mean, i would never do it but i have friends who do and they think everyone does it! So what Imtheretoo said about the boundaries changing.... im sure this guy meant racy pics. he was trying to see if you were into it. (I'm not saying he was expecting full out frontal spread eagle but like pouting with cleavage and then escalation from there is very very likely) Link to comment
Imtheretoo
Pretty much. He played it coy by denying racy pictures, when it's entirely plausible that's all he wanted. Link to comment
HeatherB
Yep yep. And then you suddenly get a wiener pic in exchange. Link to comment

What he has asked for so far seems entirely innocent to me. Link to comment
zep
lol OP, play your cards right and you might just get a pic of this guys ****! woo hoo every girls dream Link to comment

It would be one thing if she had just gotten a haircut or was talking about a new lipstick and he was like "let me see send a pic" but out of the blue "hey, send me a pic"... hmm yeaaaaa Link to comment

bebeblondie
Just an FYI...I spoke with him over the phone after all this and it really seemed like he was making an innocent request for a normal pic Link to comment
Natasha24
I've had this happen to me a bunch of times. The guy was always asking for pics because he wanted to show his friends what I looked like. I find it odd as well. Link to comment

And he occasionally knows it's better to use the one in his head than the one in his pants. lol What about the other pic he already has of you? Why wasn't that enough? Link to comment
HeatherB
I once drove a guy slightly bonkers by sending him a pic of my ear. Then my feet. Then my knees. Then half a smile. And so on. He's sitting next to me right now. So that's a tip. Link to comment
