someguy87
I don't understand why I get this from some of my friends... I socialize and get along with everyone well. However a friend a while ago said that when he wants to talk to me, he gets a mental block. What does this mean? Why would he get a mental block? Link to comment
Irial
Well, the only way to find out is to ask them. I don't think it has anything to do with something being wrong with YOU, it seems more like this friend of yours is the one who has a problem. Just discuss it with him and ask if there's anything you can do to help him overcome this? Link to comment
catfeeder
Ask, "Do you think I may not be receptive to what you have to say? Do I maybe come off as someone who doesn't hear well or care enough?" The only person who can tell you what friend's perceptions are would be the friend. Maybe he'll clarify that his concerns are more about himself rather than about you. However, you can meet him half way by considering ways to be a better listener and demo that you value the trust should someone wish to confide in you. (There isn't a person alive who can't benefit from that.) Link to comment
