amlonely27
So tomorrow I see my best friend after not seeing her for over 8 years. We have had a weird relationship and have always been in some type of competition with each other. Something good happens to me then she is always finding a way to find fault in it. I love her like a sister. We fight over things that are petty. I am not in the best shape after 5 kids and she has seen pictures of me over the years but I have fear that she will talk about me poorly for anything. I am sort of nervous but she is going through a trying time right now and since I am in town I want to make the effort to see her and be there for her. Any advice through this? Link to comment
Rosee
Well if you're as close as sisters, if she gives you hell you should give it right back, in a loving way. Is she nasty/vindictive or just blunt? Link to comment
amlonely27
She can be nasty and hurtful. I am worried and nervous that it will not be the reunion I envision. Link to comment
Rosee
Is it worth having a relationship with someone that is nasty? Have you heard of 'toxic' friendships? I think voluntary relationships should enhance your life, not detract from it in any way. Link to comment
