Let me put this to you from the perspective of someone who was a kid when their parents went through a similar situation. What is happening now will be making the kids extremely unhappy. They may hide it well, and you may hide your feelings from them well, but subconsciously they know when something isn't right.

 

If you want out of the relationship, it's best to do this as soon as possible. The sooner this happens, the sooner some stability can be obtained, and the sooner the kids are gonna be happy again. The inital breakup is going to be hard on them, but in the long term, it will be much better than having them see their parents in a marriage which is a) A lie and b) Making you unhappy.

You may want to seek the services of a Counselor and lay out to him/her this scenario and how you are feeling. It sounds like you could use some tools to help you deal with complex issues like these.
