low self-esteem-->high self-esteem!

i have a friend who is so negative in her view. She believes in horoscope and she is a cancerian. She told me cancerians are very negative(esp. when she compare herself to her friends, weak subjects, her personalities, her looks) and thus totally believes that she is really lousy than anyone she knows. i know she want to change, because she told me there's no one who can change her. thus, i think she is waiting for someone to change her. what can i do?

try to get her to think of the positive things she has in her life. maybe have her write a list of the good things & the bad things, i'm sure she'll see that the good far outweighs the bad.

I think that it is great that you are trying to help her. Her problem has nothing to do with her sodiac sing it is all about self-esteem you can help her to do things she likes to help boost her self-esteem you sound like a good friend so just sticking by her is good.

I think u should try to throw in a load of compliments. Don't overdo it and make it obvious. Compliments make us feel worth something and make us want to try harder to get more compliments. Its all very basic really. Try to get your friends to do it as well. When she starts hearing all these compliments she will start to feel that she aint so bad after all.

maybe you guys should go out & get your hair done or something...and like jonny said, give her compliments - but genuine ones
