Unsure what to do

So this last weekend I had a 2nd date with this girl I met online... there was some heavy making out and fooling around involved, however our clothes stayed on. anyway.. the problem is i get the feeling that we are just friends that like to hang out but with some extra stuff thrown in. i know its only the second date with a third planned already but is this normal? I haven't been this far in a while and was just wondering if feeling like this is normal..
