Party with the ex - should I go??

I've been invited to our mutal friends birthday party. It was this same party last year where me and my ex first met so it holds a lot of special memories for me which I am worried will be too painful... but at the same time if it wasn't for him I would go and don't want to miss out?

 

Any advice? Im sure a lot of people have been put in this awkward position!

 

I'm just worried that it will put be back a few stages and I'll start to really miss him again!

Trust me on this, you may not like what you find and you need to be prepared for the worse. My Ex gave me the coldest of shoulders when she showed up at a party I was going to be at. Something inside me died...

I wouldn't go if you know for sure he'll be there. Seems pretty soon if it was only a year ago you met him there.
