infinity8246
Instead of straight poetry, I write song lyrics, and later muisc (I'm in a band for those of you who don't know. I've got a link as my homepage.) So anyways, here's a recent rough draft of one I wrote about my current situation with my girlfriend. I wish I could give you an answer But I don't have one for myself I wish I could wipe away your tears And take you away from your hell But things like this are never easy And there's no way they will ever be I don't understand what I need to do My feelings and emotions escape me I'm just searching for a miracle For a hand to reach out and save me, now You know I'd never mean to hurt you I care about you far too much I know that I can't reassure you With me pushing away as such But things like this are never easy And there's no way they will ever be I don't understand what I need to do My feelings and emotions escape me I'm just searching for a miracle For a hand to reach out and save me I don't want to push away from you But there's nothing I can do I don't know why I push away from us I don't want to betray the trust We had I wish I could give you an answer But I don't have one for myself I wish I could wipe away your tears And take you away from your hell Link to comment
MVP
Nice poem, but be careful with those. In some cases, the female, whom you've written a poem for, will be quite flattered with poetry written especially for them. However, many women frown upon that kind of sentimental stuff, because it devalues the man's virility, strength, and masculinity. In other words, some women might see it as a sign of weakness (i.e. being a wimp). Depends on the girl, though... Link to comment
infinity8246
MVP For one, I know my girlfriend likes the music I write. In this case, I write it and don't care what people think. This is going to be a sad song about pain, because, that's how I felt when it was written. I'm working on guitar chords and a piano part now for it too. Link to comment
