Its just that.. Ive dealt with enough screwed up people and maybe Im on the look out for redflags. Im not sure if this is one or not.

The person made a bad choice in picking a partner, paid the price, and now you have to deal with it...

I wouldn't take that as a bad sign at all, if anything it's better than hearing someone say, I trust everyone. That means she's been through some experiences and learned from them. But I would be wary if she recently broke up with someone though.

Nah, I hear people say that all the time. That one phrase in and of itself is not necessarily a red flag. Honestly, who the heck do you know that doesn't have issues? The trick is to find someone who has issues you can deal with, who can deal with your issues right back.

When someone has learned some valuable lessons about trust, they know that trust is something people need to earn rather than something to be given blindly. Could just be a statement to that effect.
