david90
I have social anxiety. By using CBT, I discovered that being bullied in high school has engraved a core belief that "I'm weird and is not likable" in my head. I tried to counter this core belief by writing down reasons why I'm likable and why I'm not likable. To my surprise, I have many supporting reasons for why I'm likable vs why I'm not likable. The reasons for me not being likable are weak. Because of this exercise, I have less anxiety when in public and when dealing with people. I'm looking for some advice from veteran CBters to help me and advise me on new techniques to further reenforce my new belief. Thank a lot! Link to comment
