Clementine orange
I'm toying with the idea of supplementing my income part time by being a "piercer". I'm thinking it's something with flexible hours etc. I'm not squimish and according to some ex's I seem to enjoy inflicting pain so this might be right up my alley Does anyone have any tips or suggestions as to how one might break into this feild. Is there a school or classes or something I could attend? I would feel more confident if I was accredited or whatever. Thanks. note: I don't have any piercings myself - not really interested in getting any. i have tattoos though (cool ones) Link to comment
RelaxByWater84
I have heard that it is expensive and tough. The piercing gun and needles are expensive. Also it will take awhile for you to establish a great reputation. Plus you need to have a lot of experience to even get started. There is the leasing of place and then the all the permits you have to get. Link to comment

MushroomGod
Well I think he's talking about needle piercings not ones with a gun. I believe you have to become an apprentice first for like a year or something, then find a shop to hire you. I'm not 100% sure tho. Link to comment
Clementine orange
Yes, I'd like to work to do piercings in a tattoo parlour, not a aesthetics studio - so no, not ears, other parts of the body. I'm not worried about the time it takes to achieve this goal - anything worthwhile takes time, plus the harder it is to do it, the less likely others will do it - thereforeeee less competition! shikashika
peopel who work at Salons or beauty schools do this. Why not ring them up ( or a tattoo /piercing place) and just ask them "how does one become a piercer?" Im sure they'd be able to point you in the right direction! Link to comment
