I think far too much analysis goes into online dating. It should be an even give and take. If you wink at him, expect a wink back (if anything). Then you email, he emails, etc. You don't even know the person yet so how can you set an expectation like that without him knowing that's what you want? If that's what you want, say in your profile, "If I send you a wink, please email me instead of winking back."
