Krystal_Ivy
I've been on so many anti-depressants now that I forget what I origionally felt like. we don't have "real" sex but we do other stuff and I just feel like mines not high enough. should it be everyday?? or 3 times a week? or what? he's ready to go anytime (of course) but i'm like blah, or too tired or just NOT in the mood. even when I'm not on meds that effect my drive. what's up? insofar
You don't have to be anything. But, if you're worried about your meds affecting your sex drive, talk to your doctor. Some are better than others; I speak from firsthand experience. Link to comment
ElektraHere
Anti-deps are known to be killers of ones sexual drive. Which one are you taking? Link to comment
Krystal_Ivy
now wellbutrin, that is not supposed to affect it. Link to comment
ElektraHere
Hmmm, yes wellbutrin is supposed to be the better of the anti-deps for not affecting sex drive. How long have you been on it? If you are recently off another med you may still be getting that out of your system. Link to comment
snowangel
i am on wellbutrin and have never had any problems, but everyone is different... and the dosage and type (XL, SR) can affect you too. so i would talk to your doctor. i was on paxil years ago and my sex drive simply vanished. it actually freaked both me and my boyf at the time out. i went to the doctor and he put me on something else. i have a few friends who experienced the same thing so even though i am no psychiatrist i would try to avoid paxil if you are having a problem with an AD that is known for its 'low risk of sexual side effects.' good luck. Krystal_Ivy
I've been on it two and a half weeks. It's not decreasing my drive. I just think I naturally don't have that strong of one. I was on prozac a while back and that actually affected me, I could tell! Link to comment
comfyshoes
I'm glad that you are sticking with the same med for a period of time. It's the only way that you will find out if it is working for you or not. As i keep saying, just remember what you are taking it for. Can you live easier with that or with the side effects? Krystal_Ivy
it's such a lose lose situation depression sux, but so does no sex drive/orgasms! Link to comment
Bonzophuebes1
Everyone reacts different. I know when I was on antidepressants, my sex drive skyrocketted, my doc said that is rare but not unheard of. I mean, I had to have it everyday about 4 times a day. However, everyone is different. just do what you want, there is no right or wrong answer. Link to comment
