LEGENDS OF ME

 

Legends come and go

Dreams go untrue

memories fade with

wishes I alone only knew

Pictures of yesterday

go unclaimed, I am so shy

they must be reclaimed

before life passes me by

 

The roll of the dice,

I stop on a dime.

The luck of the draw

not enough time.

Winds of change

never change for me

my sails are up

my ship is empty

 

Life can change in a minute

rearranging all I know

all the world is a stage

and I am in the show

Sometimes you will see me crying

because I cannot remember my lines

and while the audience laughs

Im center stage while the lights shine

 

colors shape the day

black and white by night

The winds caress the earth

with no end in sight

Alone in the dark

surrounded by the world

could it be that I am left here

a lonely flower wilted and curled

 

Sometimes I ask myself questions

the answers, time has yet to reveal

I dont understand why

So let me tell you how I feel

Lonely and cold

a single leaf on a dying tree

now the dreams I have

are dreams I will never see.
