  1. As a guy, I can be interested in a girl without talking to her. It may be a guy thing, or maybe I'm one of a few, but I can tell if I'm interested in a girl just by seeing her. Sure, there may be a chance she is a horrible person or whatever, but I'm interested enough to go on at least one date with her.
  2. The question I'm asking isn't really if I should go back and talk to this specific girl, but if the situation arises again, should I approach the girl?
  3. I went Christmas shopping today, and stopped at Bob Evan's to see if she was there. When I went in, it was so packed that I just walked up into the seating to look to see if she was working. She wasn't there from what I could tell. I'm a little sad about that, but at least it saved me some money, because I didn't eat there since she was there.
  4. Warning, long read. Ok, first let me describe myself, just to give the situation before I ask the question. I'm 17, taller than most people in my area, about 6 foot, I weight about 150 pounds, I consider myself average looking, not stunning, but not overwieght or ugly either. That's probably enough for this question. So, today I had to get with my mom and little brother to go Christmas shopping Well, after an argument on where we would eat, we decide on Bob Evans. I don't know if Bob Evans is a national chain, but if you don't know what kind of restaurant it is, it's a sit-down restaurant, where you have a waitress (I can't remember ever having a waiter there), but it's not like a 5 star restaurant. The food's good. Anyway, when we walk in, I'm looking at the bar, where all the waitresses go to get the food for the table they are serving, and tell the cooks what to cook. So, I'm just scanning over the place, and I see this pretty good looking girl, she works here, but she is apparently above a regular waitress, because he didn't wait tables the whole time I was there she was behind the bar, not a perfect 10, but you could bring her to a party and be proud to have her by your side. So, as I'm walking behind the guy that takes you to your seat, I meet eyes with her, and we both just lock eyes until I go out of the field of view. So, we get our food, I finish early (wasn't too hungry), and get up to go wash my hands, and my infinately irriatating little brother "has" to go to the bathroom. I obviously didn't get up to go wash my hands, I mean come on, why would I go wash my hands early? Well, my little brother doesn't pick up on it, and ruins it. I was planning on just walking right up beside the bar, making an excuse up to go get something, and see if she would respond. Well, since that wasn't going to happen, I actually go to the bathroom, and my little brother is walking in front of me. So, as I'm scanning the restaurant again, she locks eyes with me a second time, but this time I don't go out of the field of view, and she looks away eventually. Then I go to the bathroom, wash my hands, and go sit back down at my table. After they finished eating, I go up to pay for the check, again expecting them to do what they usually do, and take their dear sweet time, but they both come right up behind me. So I give mom the check, and I lean against the counter as she waits in line. I glance at the girl again, again locking eyes, and start walking up to her. She takes a breath, like she is getting ready to speak, but I'm just going up to the counter to get a toothpick. *Note, here is where I'm needing the advice.* Then I go back to the counter with my family, and lock eyes with her for a few more seconds and walk out. I'm not sure who broke eye contact on this one, my brother started talking to me, so it was probably me. Now, at the point I noted in the story, would you think she is interested in me? Does eye contact like this usually signal interest?
  5. Well crap, you're the one of the two who even offered any advice, I figured that there would be more, but I guess I was overestimating the responses. I would like to thank the guys who offered me advice though. Anyway, I just came back from the store, and when I was there she was busy, and the manager rushed up on me , so there wasn't really any chance for me to talk to her. I'm kinda depressed, but not enough to show it on the outside, and I guess I'll try to go again in a couple of days. I didn't even get to talk to her today. If there are any females that would give me the female perspective of what I should do, that would be great.
  6. Well, a huge storm came in yesterday, so I didn't get to take the game back, so I'm going to take it back as soon as I pick up my little brother off the bus. I'm not really sure what to do, but I guess I'll just wing it. If anyone is interested in knowing what happens leave a message in the thread, otherwise don't, because I haven't really got too much advice here.
  7. I was talking to one of my friend's about her today, and he said she used to date his neighbor, who I think I look better than. That jumped up my hopes a little bit. If she is working today, I'm going to try to start a conversation or at least leave an impression. I'll post on here her response after I get back.
  8. I've been there more than a few times, and she's worked there for about or over 6 months, with no conversation other than the usual phone number request and enter your passcode for video rental. I'm trying to think of something to talk about, because I'm going to take the game back today. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Before recently, I wasn't the kind of guy a girl would want to date, and now that I'm in shape, I'm trying to build up to what I should be. I'm usually a shy person, I've always been, but I'm trying to drop that habit fast, or at least make it unnoticeable with normal conversation for now, so any help on that would be appreciated too.
  9. Ok, first let me describe myself. I'm 17, pretty tall compared to most people locally, about 6 foot or maybe a little taller, I weight about 150-160, average body build, not fat but not skinny, I consider myself about average in the looks department, I've got some zits, but not too much for someone my age, and it's slowly progesssing in going away. Now, the situation, about a year ago, I looked horrible compared to what I am now, I was short, fat, and had acne. Being in the situation I was in, I didn't really stand a chance with too many good looking girls. Then, out of nowhere the girl down the street goes from average, too young fo me girl, to pretty hot, with smoking hot coming up. That motivated me to work out daily, drop the weight, I'm taking medicine for the zits, and I had grown a lot over the year. So, there are two video rental stores around me, one with just movies, and one with movies and games. I usually don't rent games anymore, for the lack of money, but my little brother wanted to rent a game, so I took him to the video store with games and movies. I usually go there about twice or three times a month, with nothing unusual. This time, I go in, it's cold outside, and I'm drinking a cup of coffee. This girl that works there, I would rate a 7 maybe 8 out of 10 in the national scale, but there sure are a lot of ugly people here in my town, she looks good, thin, good build, you can tell she previously had acne, but it seems to be cleared up. Anyway, she starts a conversation with me about coffee, what kind I'm drinking, what kind of coffee she likes. I've been there more than a few times, but never talked to her other than tell her my phone number for the ID. This is the first time she's ever talked to me other than for ID, and I'm not sure how old she is, but I'm pretty sure that if she knew I was 17, she wouldn't be interested. So, do you all think I stand a chance? I'm going back tomorrow to take back the game, so any advice would be helpful too.
