He isn't in love anymore

My boyfriend and I have dated three years. The last year has been long distance as we are at different colleges. We have had our ups and downs and challenges but things had been going ok. This summer was stressful as he missed his friends from college and was suffocated by his overbearing parents. I had a bad internship experience and so as you can imagine we had trouble being happy together. He leaves tomorrow and I wont see him for at least a month. He told me today that he doesn't know if he is in love with me anymore. It doesn't feel the same, he said. He said he does love me and we have a blast together..but he hasn't had that spark. I say, it is just the normal change when you have been dating so long. I just don't think he is ready to be that settled yet. I am willing to wait and he said he is willing to try. It's difficult being apart but maybe the separation will be good. What can I do to ease his mind or is that even my job? How do I get through it? Is it normal to fall out of love and then fall back in love again? Can I hope? What I do know is I love him with my whole heart and can't imagine my life without him....
