Gift for a crush... too strong?

Hi, im new... just so you know before i make an idiot out of myself.

 

Anyway, i recently fell for this girl and decided that i would get her a nice christmas presant and planned on telling her how i felt over a nice dinner or something like that. However, i really don't think i have any remote chance with her, not because i lack self-confidence or anything, the truth just hurts sometimes... but i digress. So, is dinner and a relatively expensive gift coming on too strong if you arent dating or involved with the gift giver?

Yes an expensive gift is coming on way too strong. Tell her over dinner, but save the gift for when you really know her.

just wondering, what particular "truth" were you referring to? sounds to me like you're dead cert you don't stand a chance or something. unless she has already said that she doesn't want you or something along those lines, you can't really say, can you?
