How long do rebound relationships last?

Any idea how long on average a rebound relationship might last before it goes bad if it goes bad. And on average if that happens when it happens what happens? and does the reboundee try to contact their ex?

I was with my x boyfriend for three years and when we split I shortly got with someone else, who at the time I thought I really liked. I was with him for about 2 months but now I realise I wasn't really interested in him, only the fact that he was there.....

Ive only had this experience with rebounds, however I have had friends who are still with their 'rebound' guy.

 

I didn't try to contact my x, mainly because he was in a new relationship and I new that it was defenitely over.

i was somebody elses rebound. He had just split up with his long term girlfriend when he got with me, literally a week later. we went out for 6 months and then he told me he was sorry but he had tried and didnt love me. It broke my heart and so i would say to anyone thinking rebounding, DONT.

My ex rebounded for 4/5 weeks - then guess what !! ?? Striaght back on the phone to me.

 

We have since split because she could not make sure the reasons for the initail split no longer applied

it turns out that i was my ex's rebound. For a year!

I'm still in that healing phase, and I wouldn't be surprised if she rebounded to another guy quickly.
