hey guys

just want to say im new and just wondering why you guys cut....i know i cut for a number of reasons, feeling numb just being one of them. do you guys ever just feel numb? like you could cut as deep as you want to and you still dont feel a thing. its horrible for me. i cut to make sure im still here. to make sure im alive.

i dont cut myself... but i have many friends who do and i think you should seek some help. cutting is NOT good. i think you should find things to make up happy because obviously you are not.

I can't take anything out on other people, so I take it out on myself.

self-hatred, anger towards others that i don't express, frustrations, to prove that i'm real, to stop hallucinating, to give myself something other than emotional pain to focus on, to remind myself that i won't live forever, to calm myself down, to forget everything.

I do it because I like it. But mainly so the voices will stop.

I don't cut, but my daughter does. She cuts because of emotions. As a mom it is the hardest thing in the world to see the most important person in you life hurt themself however she doesn't feel it til afterwards and the little bit of discomfort she feels is better to her than all of the pain she feels when she doesn't. I have found this out in the last couple of days and were working on making it better with help from people like yourself and the professionals she is seeing.
